False Alarm Software Features
Here you will find a list of the most requested features in our alarm management and false alarm tracking system.
Proper implementation of our software solution requires thorough planning and discussion to insure success. Key elements included in our implementation process include determining your CAD/RMS interface requirements, your false alarm ordinance and fee structure, and what to do with your billing data.
False Alarm Software has the ability to track and perform financial transactions such as invoicing, statements, payments and credits, interest charges, etc. Our clients also have the ability to export billing data to the jurisdiction’s main financial system for invoicing.
Don't see a special need that you have? We will develop it for you, if it is not already being developed, and add it to our base package.
Software Features
1. Import CAD data: Receive false alarm incident data from the Police Department dispatch system in an ASCII format.
2. Invoice or export invoice data. The ability to invoice on an on-demand basis (daily, weekly, monthly), or the ability to export financial billing data to your municipal financial system for billing.

3. Calculate false alarms per your ordinance. The system will count the number of incidents for each registered address from each incoming incident, including:
- Calculate the number of false alarms in the last 365 days OR in the calendar year, depending on your ordinance structure.
- Calculate police and fire false alarm fees separately, commercial and residential alarm fees separately, or any combination of fees and alarm types together or separately.
- Prepare and print warning letters for each incident.
- Prepare and print invoices for the current false alarm charges as well as any past due balances with interest charges.
- Prepare financial billing data and perform a data export into your jurisdiction’s financial software application.
4. New address & registration import. During the import of the CAD data, the system has the ability to recognize an address not in the system. You will have the option to add that address immediately, correct the address if needed, or lookup registered addresses and apply the incident to the correct address.
5. Alarm Registration module. Depending on your jurisdiction’s ordinance, you will have the ability to pre-register alarms in lieu of the automatic address import from a police dispatch system. Our software allows for pre-registration of alarms with a fee structure and reporting included. Web interfaces, whether public or internal, are available.
Reports include:
- Alarms Registrations expiring in any given future month.
- Renewal letter printing in batch with reports.
- Invoicing for registrations that require a fee.
- Tracking of registered/unregistered alarms that have had incident dispatches in the past year.
6. Account history. A screen to view each individual address account and the entire history of each. The account history screen has the ability to filter out false alarms, invoices, payments, billing exports, etc.
7. Corporate billing & parent-child accounts. The software has the ability to maintain an alarm address registered and a separate billing address. In the case where there are multiple alarms registered to one corporate account, a “parent” billing account can be setup to allow for each branch of the corporation to be tracked and invoiced either individually or all on one invoice.
8. Manual incident entry. The system has the ability to enter an incident manually. This feature is used if the fire department does not have a CAD system, if a waiver has been performed and incidents need re-assignment, etc.
9. Exempt Accounts & Addresses. An address can be marked “exempt”, meaning it can track alarms and history without billing. An example might be city hall, school systems, etc.
10. Alarm Waiver. The user will have the ability to waive an alarm before and after the billing has taken place.
11. Standard Reports: Accounts receivable, Transaction History, Account History, and the Monthly Invoice Summary.
12. Security Levels. The software has security levels built in to include an "administrator", "user", and "read only" use.
